Anxiety for Adults
Anxiety
Many individuals at some point in their life struggle with feelings of anxiety.. Those struggling with anxiety often report excessive worry, feeling restless or keyed up, irritable, easily fatigued, or have trouble sleeping. Professional counseling often can help individuals assess the extent of their symptoms and assist clients in learning new ways of dealing with the stressors of life. A Pathways Psychological Services individual counselor or licensed psychologist can also help those whose anxiety is based on irrational thinking to change old interpretations or thought patterns and replace them with more rational ones. If medication is warranted, your individual therapist will assist you in a referral for a medication evaluation from a licensed psychiatrist or other medical doctor.

How do I know if I am suffering from anxiety?
- Do you have trouble sleeping?
- Are you plagued by stomachaches and headaches?
- Does it seem like you worry about things more than other people?
- Do you think your worrying affects your ability to function at work?
- Do your friends and family say you worry too much?
If you answered yes to two or more questions, this might indicate that there is a problem. Even without a clinical diagnosis of anxiety, we can still assist you with relief.
